Difficult Airway Society (DAS)

The Difficult Airway Society is a UK-based medical specialist society formed to further management of the airway of patients by anaesthetists and other critical care practitioners. It developed from the interest of a number of anaesthetists who met at a fibreoptic intubation meeting held at Guy's Hospital, London once or twice a year from 1987.

DAS advertises and provides courses, lectures, demonstrations, workshops and other educational modalities. We have a wide variety of academic and educational activities to achieve our goal of improving airway management for out patients.

Malaysian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Neurocritical Care (MSNACC)

There is an emerging number of anaesthesiologists with special interest in perioperative neurosciences from public, private and university hospitals in Malaysia. This subsequently catalysed the formation of Malaysian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Neurocritical Care (MSNACC) on 28 May 2021. The MSNACC is a non profitable and self-generating professional body. Through its small but growing number of members, MSNACC aims to facilitate educational activities via formal attachments, workshops, international and national conferences, all for the betterment of perioperative neuroscience in Malaysia.

In keeping with MSNACC's tagline, 'MSNACC: Promoting Excellence in Perioperative Neuroscience and MSNACC: Promoting Excellence in Perioperative Neuroscience and Beyond Beyond', the Society is committed in delivering high quality continuous professional activities not limited to neuroanaesthesia and neurocritical care. These areas include airway management, anaesthesia for patients living with obesity, total intravenous anaesthesia, patient safety, healthcare risk management and education in medico-legal and medical ethics which are essential to all anaesthetic providers.

Persatuan Akademik Kakitangan Anestesiologi Sabah (PERAKAS)

Persatuan Akademik Kakitangan Anestesiologi Sabah (PERAKAS), or Sabah Academic Society of Anaesthesiology, was established in 2014. Currently, it comprises 35 dedicated members from three main hospitals in Kota Kinabalu: Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Queen Elizabeth 2 Hospital, and Sabah Women and Child Hospital. Our organization serves as a dynamic platform committed to advancing the field of anaesthesiology within Sabah and across Malaysia.

With the primary objective of fostering professional growth and collaboration, we host a diverse range of activities aimed at enriching the knowledge and skills of our members while contributing to the broader anaesthesiology community. The organization has successfully organized its annual main activity, namely BAIPC (Borneo Anaesthesia & Intensive Care & Pain Conference), since 2014. Apart from that, other scientific meetings such as the annual Sabah ICU update, airway workshop, and regional anaesthesia workshop were successfully organized with a good number of participants from all over Malaysia. The Sabah Academic Society of Anaesthesiology is not only dedicated to professional development but also to serving the local community. In addition to regular Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) training sessions, our society actively engages in community outreach programs. These initiatives include providing basic CPR training to members of the local community, equipping them with life-saving skills that can make a difference in emergencies. By combining academic excellence with community service, we strive to make a meaningful impact in the field of anaesthesiology and beyond.
