Dr Tanmay Tiwari is an Additional Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, with over 15 years of academic and clinical experience. He is a highly regarded expert in difficult airway management, organ transplant anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and paediatric anaesthesia, with special interest in cleft and craniofacial surgeries.

He completed his MD in Anaesthesiology from KGMU and PDCC in Organ Transplant Anaesthesia from SGPGIMS, Lucknow. Dr Tiwari played a key role in establishing the Liver Transplant Programme at KGMU and has contributed to more than 34 liver transplants. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he held critical administrative responsibilities, including management of oxygen supply in one of the largest COVID hospitals in Uttar Pradesh.

An active academician, Dr. Tiwari has authored 45+ peer-reviewed publications, >230 citations contributed to book chapters, and holds an Indian design patent related to airway safety. He serves on the editorial boards of leading anaesthesia journals and is a reviewer for several national and international journals.

He is a national faculty, quiz master, and course director, having conceptualised training programs such as AirPro (Airway Proficiency Course) and VasPro (Vascular Proficiency Course). He currently serves as Honorary Secretary, ISA Uttar Pradesh, and holds leadership roles in ISA, AIDAA, and RSACP.
