Dr Roan J. Jocson is a Filipino board-certified anesthesiologist with sub-specialty in thoracic anesthesia, advanced airway management, and transplant anesthesia. He completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute and subsequently pursued fellowship training in Thoracic Anesthesia at the Lung Center of the Philippines, where he gained extensive experience in complex thoracic, and pulmonary procedures. To strengthen his leadership and administrative competence, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Far Eastern University–Makati (2021–2023).

He is a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Anesthesiology, a Fellow of the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists, and a recognized Specialist in Thoracic Anesthesia. Dr Jocson is actively engaged in professional organizations and currently serves as Treasurer of the Association of Thoracic Anesthesia of the Philippines and as a Board Director of the Philippine Airway Management Society, contributing to professional development, education, and policy advancement in anesthesiology.

Dr Jocson presently holds multiple key roles at NKTI, including Medical Specialist II, Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Unit, Research Coordinator of the Division of Anesthesia, and member of the ECMO team. In these capacities, he is involved in patient safety initiatives, clinical governance, research development, and critical care support.

An accomplished academic and researcher, Dr Jocson has presented numerous studies in local and international forums, with research interests centered on airway management, anesthetic techniques, transplant anesthesia, and perioperative safety. Several of his research projects have received recognition at institutional research competitions, highlighting his commitment to evidence-based practice.

He has completed advanced clinical and safety training in the Philippines and abroad, including China, Germany, Thailand, and Singapore. A sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator, Dr Jocson regularly lectures on airway management, perioperative risk stratification, and patient safety, reinforcing his role as a clinician-leader, educator, and innovator in anesthesiology.
