Dr Muhamad Aizuddin Bin Ismail (MMC: MPM68636) is a Medical Lecturer and Clinician Anaesthesiologist (Anaesthesiology & Critical Care) at Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia (HPUSM), serving within the Department of Anesthesiology & Intensive Care, School of Medical Sciences, Health Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Kota Bharu, Kelantan. He graduated with an MBBS from Monash University, Australia (2014) and subsequently completed the Master of Medicine (MMed) in Anaesthesiology at USM (2019–2023), strengthening his grounding in perioperative medicine and intensive care practice.

As an academic clinician, Dr Aizuddin’s work centres on clinically relevant questions that translate directly to bedside decision-making—particularly in point-of-care diagnostics and ultrasound-guided anaesthesia. His publications include a study examining the agreement between point-of-care and laboratory automated immunoassays for procalcitonin measurement in critically ill patients (Anaesthesia, Pain Intensive Care, 2023), and a comparative trial evaluating ultrasound-guided three-in-one block versus landmark fascia iliaca block for analgesia facilitating positioning for spinal anaesthesia in femur fracture surgery (2024).

He actively disseminates his work through scientific meetings and academic competitions. Notably, he received Best Oral Presentation at The Regional Airway Meeting: Asia-Pacific Conference 2024 for research linking airway ultrasonography with Cormack–Lehane grading in obstructive sleep apnoea, and he has contributed an airway ultrasound infographic
presentation at the same meeting. He also achieved recognition at PPSP-USM’s academic platform through the Research Sparktalk Clashing Cluster Challenge (2024).

Alongside research, Dr Aizuddin teaches and supervises learners through lectures, skills training, and case-based discussions, with clinical interests spanning airway management, regional anaesthesia, and critical care optimisation.
