Dr Chong Shin Yuet is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesia at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and currently serves as the Director of Paediatric Anaesthesia. A passionate and committed medical educator, she is the Lead for Simulation Education within the SingHealth Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Sciences Academic Clinical Programme and the Campus Director for SGH at the SingHealth–Duke NUS Institute for Medical Simulation (SIMS).

Dr Chong is a core faculty member of the SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Programme and is also part of the international faculty for the Master Debriefer Course at the Debriefing Academy (Canada), where she teaches advanced debriefing skills to simulation educators worldwide. She leads a dynamic team of simulationists who conduct regular in situ simulation programmes in the operating theatres and intensive care units, focusing on interprofessional crisis resource management, teamwork, and systems-based learning. Her team has also employed process-oriented in situ simulation to test new clinical facilities, refine workflows, and enhance patient safety and care delivery.

Her current research interests include the use of virtual reality simulation to train perioperative operating theatre teams in the management of malignant hyperthermia.

Dr Chong was a member of the organising committee for Januairway 2025, a month-long departmental airway education initiative, where she helped design and facilitate an innovative escape room–based airway management workshop. Building on the strong positive feedback from this initiative, she subsequently co-created a second immersive escape room experience for the National Airway Programme Singapore (NAPS) in September 2025, an annual advanced airway management workshop for healthcare professionals in Singapore.
