Dr Ted Wong is a senior consultant anesthesiologist at the Singapore General Hospital.
He was born, raised and trained in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and completed his neuroanesthesia fellowship in London, Ontario, Canada. He has been in Singapore since 1998 where he quickly developed an interest in airway management and now heads the airway group at Singapore General Hospital. He has been instrumental in evaluating and procuring airway adjuncts, developing and stocking the airway carts and developing and stocking FONA (front of neck access) kits for all anesthetic sites. He is presently platform director of critical care and anesthesia workshops – SGH Surgical Skills Center , which includes the FACT workshop (Fundamentals in Airway and Central line Training) , the advanced airway workshop – primarily teaching basic and advanced skills in fiberoptic use. In 2018, Dr Wong was integral in amalgamating the anesthesia airway workshops among the public hospitals in Singapore and directed and ran the inaugural National Airway Programme Singapore (NAPS) and its recent iteration under the affiliation of the WCA 2024 as a pre-congress workshop . Dr Wong has published various articles in airway management and has given numerous talks and conducted workshops both locally and internationally on the management of difficult airways.
